The Pennywise Welcome to Derry Animatronic by Spirit Halloween brings the nightmare of Derry, Maine, into your home. Inspired by IT: Welcome to Derry, this officially licensed animatronic stands an enormous 6 feet 10 inches tall.
However, its sheer size is only part of what makes this Pennywise so disturbing.
With a blood-soaked appearance, detailed costume, animated body and slowly changing expression, Pennywise looks as though he has stepped straight out of Derry.
When activated, Pennywise doesn’t simply stand there.
His body begins to bend forward while his arms open, creating a realistic bowing motion. At the same time, his animated mouth slowly stretches into a wide and deeply unsettling grin.
The combination creates a wonderfully creepy performance. First, Pennywise appears to acknowledge his audience. Then that familiar smile begins to spread across his face.
Suddenly, getting this close to him doesn’t seem like such a good idea.
The animation is accompanied by official Pennywise laugh audio from IT: Welcome to Derry.
