The greatest vampire hunter in Hammer Horror is ready to face Dracula once again.
The Van Helsing NECA figure celebrates Peter Cushing’s unforgettable performance in Hammer’s Horror of Dracula(1958). Standing in 7-inch scale, this Ultimate release recreates the legendary vampire hunter with detailed accessories, interchangeable parts and multiple display options.
For fans of classic British horror, it’s a superb tribute to one of Hammer’s most iconic characters.
Released in 1958, Horror of Dracula brought together two giants of British horror: Peter Cushing as Dr Van Helsing and Christopher Lee as Count Dracula.
Cushing’s determined, intelligent vampire hunter became one of his defining roles. Moreover, his performance helped establish the distinctive style that would make Hammer’s Gothic horror films famous around the world.
Now, NECA brings that classic interpretation of Van Helsing to its Ultimate action figure collection.
Standing approximately 7 inches tall, Van Helsing features a detailed sculpt inspired by Peter Cushing’s appearance in Horror of Dracula.
However, this figure offers much more than a single display option.
An interchangeable waist allows Van Helsing to appear wearing either his vest or long coat. In addition, interchangeable heads and hands let collectors alter his appearance and create different scenes.
Combined with full articulation, these options make Van Helsing ideal for both posing and display.
You can’t hunt Dracula without the proper equipment.
Fortunately, Van Helsing arrives prepared with an impressive collection of vampire-fighting accessories. These include a wooden stake, bundle of stakes, cross and hammer.
Two candle holders are also included. Furthermore, the additional portrait and gloved hands provide even more possibilities when creating a display.
Whether he’s tracking Dracula through a Gothic castle or preparing for the final confrontation, Van Helsing has the tools for the job.
Hammer transformed horror cinema during the late 1950s and beyond. Instead of simply recreating earlier monster movies, the studio developed its own unmistakable combination of Gothic atmosphere, vivid colour and memorable performances.
Horror of Dracula remains one of the defining films of that era. Consequently, Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing is a natural choice for NECA’s celebration of classic Hammer Horror.
The figure also comes in a collector-friendly window box with opening flap, making it equally suitable for boxed and loose display.
For Hammer devotees, Peter Cushing fans and classic horror collectors, this Ultimate Van Helsing offers an impressive combination of character likeness, articulation and accessories.
Better still, pair him with Dracula and recreate one of British horror cinema’s greatest rivalries on your shelf.
After all, Dracula can’t be allowed to have things entirely his own way.
The hunt is on.
