Welcome to Derry.
Mezco Toyz brings Pennywise the Dancing Clown to its Living Dead Dolls collection. This creepy release takes inspiration from the character’s appearance in Stephen King’s IT (2017).
However, this isn’t Pennywise as a conventional action figure. Instead, Mezco has reimagined him in the dark and distinctive style of Living Dead Dolls.
The result is suitably disturbing.
Pennywise’s sinister appearance works perfectly with the gothic style of the LDD collection.
His famous clown costume is recreated in miniature form. Meanwhile, his haunting eyes and sinister expression capture the menace behind the smile.
The stylised proportions also give Pennywise a very different appearance from a standard figure or statue. As a result, this release stands out even among other IT collectables.
Pennywise returned to cinemas in 2017 in a new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel.
Played by Bill Skarsgård, this version gave Pennywise a new and deeply unsettling appearance. In addition, the character quickly became one of modern horror’s most recognisable faces.
Mezco’s Living Dead Dolls interpretation takes that movie design in another direction. It keeps Pennywise instantly recognisable while adding the strange charm of the LDD range.
Living Dead Dolls have developed a following for their unusual approach to horror characters. Therefore, Pennywise feels right at home in the collection.
Display him alongside other Living Dead Dolls or make him the centre of an IT collection. Either way, he’s unlikely to disappear into the background.
For Stephen King fans, Pennywise collectors and lovers of horror, this is a wonderfully creepy take on the Dancing Clown.
After all, everyone floats down here.
